My Trip To Jakarta

Day One:

Well it started off pretty well. I was living in an executive suite, kindly paid for by my dad’s friend =) haha… so I lazed around while imagining my friends doing CIP ^^ then I went down to enjoy a heavy breakfast, while watching the MTV channel and just lazing around. Soon, I grew bored and went back to my room to watch soccer. At noon, my dad’s friend came to bring us for lunch, and safari. One thing I learn : long roads suck. Lols… it was still okay the first time as I slept most of the way, waking up to enjoy a buffet meal at a restorant before we headed for the Safari! All I can say about it is : IT ROCKS ><

Lol it was really good cuz I saw many cute animals like mousedeer, hippos, deer, goats, buffalos, and much more. There were cool electronic fences and stuffage and the animal;s came right up to our car! Haha my brother kept winding down the window to attract them using the aircon. I got some really cool pics… and then we ventured into cat territory. BIG cats. First up, we saw tons of tigers just roaming around, and lions too. One things for sure : my brother was NOT intent on touching them =) suddenly, one tiger started whacking the back of our car! We fired off the engine and headed off in a hurry, with it chasing for a short while. -.-“scary… then net up was the bear territory. We went in and saw baby bears. We ventured further and saw mommy bears. Then a big bear came up and laid its paws on our front screen! The driver was shivering like mad, but thankfully the bear backed off.

When we reached the end, we found that the tiger had PUNCHED A BIG HOLE in the back of the FIBREGLASS CAR! lols. Will try to produce pics. And the bear had left muddy paw prints… so after this we headed off for dinner. On the way saw little kids around 4 or 5 selling newspapers and food for a living! To imagine we can like slack around and get an allowance while these people live from hand to mouth. I felt like buying all his papers, but I couldn’t read malay. So I just bought a few toys and stuff. You could see the way the little guys face lit up. It was that of innocence, and pure joy. I’ll never forget it.

Anyway, as previously mentioned, long roads suck. The journey to our restaurant involved a giant highway, and along it nature began calling. I tried sleeping, but bumps and humps didn’t help much. I was desperate! And my brother wasn’t helping by slurping water noisily. I was thirsty, so I needed to intake at one end and output at the other. SUXXORZ! Blessedly, I managed to get to the restaurant before exploding. Good for me, better for the car.

After a yummy beef dinner, I went back to the hotel with my parents. We slacked and watched tv, and I took it into my head to take a bath. Nothing wrong right? So I entered, locked the door and began. Normal right? I toweled myself dry and wore fresh clothes. Still ok right? I turned the lock, and TRIED to open the door. NOT OKAY! The lousy thingie was stuck! So I called the hotel counter and they took a crazy 50 minutes to come! … all I can say is it was really boring. I mean u can only count water droplets so many times.

Ah wells, at least I managed to catch some cool army show and a soccer match. As I type this, I am missing out on a cool bank robbery on tv. Well, gotta blast! More stuff tomorrow.

p.s. : im typing this on a laptop to be transferred. Whoot!

Day Two: I am now sitting in my hotel room with two king beds, after having watched star wars on some Indonesian vcd. haha so there Chermaine! No more gloating. Anyway, it wasn’t as good as I expected. Yeah. Rather draggy at parts, but I liked the fighting. Especially the last part. Comment : Anakin looks like crap! I pity the poor soul who acted the after-going-thru-lava-anakin. That guy looks like a piece of crap. Grievious was a fat loser. And dooku died too fast. If u pple noticed, Anakin had red eyes at the end.

Some screwed up subtitles :

1) Dark Side – Dark Eunuch. This is just dumb I dun get why.
2) Myself – xself. I also dunno why but its sorta funny.
3) Good – big. This is just weird.

Haha there are many more grammar errors like sentences saying “ the chancelotx to rescue the doors we must run now force hurry.” When it really is “ we must rescue the chancellor! Through the doors now!” haha… I dunno how these Indonesians screw up such easy stuff. Ah wells. Over all, I give it a 7/10. rather okay.

Hmmm today morning had a big bkfast again! Whee im getting used to this cool stuff like unlimited anything. Went off to Carrefour there for shopping! Man the place rocks. Its 8 storeys! EIGHT GIANT STOREYS! Whoo was it fun. But sadly, I only explored two. Lol. So when I went into Carrefour, I was looking for a bag. I found some nice 69,000 rupiah bag. Which amounts to eleven bucks. Approximately. And I wnted it so badly! BUT MY PARENTS THOUGHT IT SUCKED. HRMPHF! So to prove tt it rocked, I decided to test waterproofness. Lol I actually poured a little water experimented on every bag there to prove mine was just as waterproof as the one she wanted. In the end, didn’t get it. I ran around being crazy and finally, found tons of bubble/chewing gum which I am now the proud owner of.

Went to the upper levels to look around, managed to get a nice shirt which I will wear to Abigail’s party. Got her a present in advance… its nothing much. But its cute ^^ lol… who else wants presents? GO GET YOURSELF LAH IM BACK ALREADY =) lol.

So slacked the rest of the after noon off by watching star wars from a vcd bought there. Did I mention my brother and I walked against the up/down escalators the whole time? Lol it was fun! But tiring. And did I mention that macdonalds costs like 2 bucks for a Extra Value Meal? Crazy.

Haha miss you guys! Gonna nap now. Whee…

After five hours…

Fine beef imported from Japan served to you alongside prime pork from Korea

VS

Fine, tender beef from Japan grilled over a low intensity flame to bring out the very aroma within served to you alongside succulent prime pork imported from Korea, barbecued over a charcoal grill, bringing out its juiciness and savoury flavour. Yummy.

Lol the second one is mine, cuz I thought that the Korean restaurant a stone’s throw away from my hotel deserved a better description of its best dish. And boy does it live up to expectations. We had a fun time enjoying all the yummy beef and stuffage like kimchi. I <3 korea! Lols. After the meal, being young rowdy boys, we played with the grill… haha we managed to burn a bone black all over and cook an egg from the size of your fist, into a shriveled mass shorter than my pinky. We were running out of lousy unsatisfactory food, and out of fun. So I decided to ‘spice’ things up, with some gravy and sauce. The result was explosive! Haha the whole grill began to fizzle and it made spluttering noises. Cool eh? But I, joseph the explorer, was NOT satisfied. Hence, I decided to practice what I had learnt in primary school. A cup of cold water, and a little slip of the hand. Immediately, huge clouds of smoke rose into the air and the staff came over. (hehe this is real I kid you not) I got a prompt scolding few reminders, but which genius never gets into trouble while having fun? Haha…

Explored the gym. Whee four days of gym for me coming right up! Ah they have non stop hit movies here I am going off to watch byebye!

p.s. : blogging on Microsoft word is lame. I miss internet. And msn… =(

Day Three:

I started off the day by waking up amazingly early. 7.30 is early for a HOLIDAY okay… =( ah wells. Headed to the local church for the service and enjoyed worshipping in MALAY? The audience comprised mostly of adults, but they were waving and jumping as well as any youth church. Impressive. And in business suits somemore… after setting a new high score of 2008 for Nature Park on my handphone, I headed back to the hotel in a taxi. Its amazingly cheap! Starts off as 80 cents, then increases by 4 cents every 100 metres. Cool or what man… so much cheaper than Singapore lor!!!

So I went back, watched world class athletes do long jump and high jump and pole vault and 4 x 400. lolls the long jump rocked because they swing their legs in the air and it feels/looks like flying. I did try it, but my face connected with the carpet in a loving kiss and I decided it wasn’t worth it.

Went with my mom’s friend to tour the place. Jakarta’s version of Chinatown ROCKS! Pity I didn’t have enough time. Bought lotsa cheap tidbits. When I say cheap, I mean a dollar a kilo? Cool. They sell millions of vcds of ALL SORTS. And I mean from movies, old and recent, mp3s, oldies, audio, and even porn much much more! Yeah. How… versatile? So I looked around, and found this blue bag. I saw many more, but didn’t have TIME! All I can say is shopping in Jakarta rocks.

Went back to the place while trashing my brother at blackjack. Sigh I feel so bored now. Wish I could play soccer or bball. But sadly… now there’s this skating show on tv. And they are at a bachelor party… whoo. I love bachelor parties ^^ . So concludes my third afternoon.

Day Four:

Today began with a filling breakfast once more, and soon after we headed off for shopping, then lunch, I found some cool bargains like NIKE bags half spore price, but sadly just didn’t feel like buying it. You see, it felt great to be a millionaire. 200 sing dollars is 1100000 rupiah. Yeah. One million, one hundred thousand. And when u fish out that bill and look at it, you just feel good. Trust me. Ate a lunch with my dad’s friend, then went back to the hotel to slack relax once more ( familiar is it not? )

Still miss internet lots. Keep thinking about pple’s blogs, email and stuffage. And the worst part is, I have no way to publish all this that I am writing. I am writing it like you pple can read it, but actually you cant. Ah wells. Have decided to voice thoughts in my blog rather than just events. I miss lots of stuff. But most of all , I miss traveling in Singapore. Yeah. Here, there is a jam the whole time! And like I travel from Home to school. Normally, it takes 15 minutes maximum. 20 with jam. Here, it takes an hour or more! There are no road lines to denunciate which lane to go, and few traffic lights. Most of which don’t work. -.-” … so sucky much room for improvement

So went for dinner at this cool house. They have a big plot of land, big enough to make a street soccer, basketball, tennis and badminton court, with spare space all around. Haha… have to go sleep now lah. Indonesian food is sorta saltier than Singaporean. I miss mcdonalds. I feel like reading xiaxue.blogspot.com. I feel like emailing my friends. I feel like smsing my meis. I feel… homesick. Lolls. And tired too. Good night readers… ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ^^

Day Five:

Lets skip the routine. I headed off to the mall for some shopping, while my dad went off to meet some youth pastors. We proceeded to purchase foodstuff and clothing on very cheap bargains! I love Indonesia. 7 different branded clothing, for 80,000 rupiah. Which is about 15 bucks? Lol…

My brother and I proceeded to rewatch finding nemo while stealing borrowing some bubblegum from a shop. You know. Those kind with many different types that cost blahblah for 100 grams. Hehe… >< soon after, we decided to finish up our duel at a coffeshop. I beat him 20-6 in blackjack and 10 – 3 in tai tee, all casino style. Whee =) then we spent time chasing each other round the shopping center and looking at the cds. The only minus point is that the cds were Singapore priced, so I didn’t buy any. After my dad came, we went off to Secret Recipe, this really nice place selling yummy stuff near my Singapore residence. Amazingly, the price were like 1/3 of Singapore! Lame stew costing $16 was now $8, and other meals around $12 were now $3! We bought a meal that in Singapore would have burned our pockets but here, cost less than $20. this was a lamb stew, a Mexican chicken grill, a mushroom chicken meal, tom yam soup, two marble cheese cakes and one chocolate banana! Just to illustrate what I mean by cheap affordable, this would have priced around 60 bucks in Singapore. Yeah…

So we headed back, and ate the food, and reflected on our entire trip before my brother and I watched some soccer match and went to sleep. I seem to be watching plenty of late night shows here. Cuz the late night shows rock lah… got ESPN Star Sports and five movie channels! Can watch until eyes pop out one lor. I am now blogging the day after because I was too lazy tired to blog last night. Haha…

Highlights:

WARNING: this section contains details which I FEEL LIKE blogging about and you losers uninterested people can just STAY OUT! So there.

Well there were many memorable stuff along the trip. For example, my experience at the Chinatown of Jakarta. We had just arrived, and after purchasing some goodies had been wandering around. We spotted one whole row of vcds, and went over to take a look. There were Tom cruise movies, James Bond, Star Wars, AND MUCH MORE. So I flipped over one to see what was underneath, and wished I hadn’t. it was chock full of PORN! Argh indonesia’s government is perverse! We rushed out of that place and went somewhere else. Hehe.

Okay actually that’s all I wanted to say. So im leaving for the plane soon after breakfast, gym and lunch. Okay not that soon but ah wells Singapore here I come!\

whee im back now

Tell The World

i was listening to this song called Tell the World on evans blog. and suddenly, i was consumed by a desire to do so so here i am. the lyrics of this song go something liddat -

" all i want in this life time is you, all i want in this whole world is you. Tell the world that Jesus lives! Tell the world that, tell the world that. Tell the world that he died for them, Tell the world that he lives again" " cmon cmon we'll tell the world about you (6x)"

and i would just like to take this chance. there have been many people who have been positively influential in the life of little me, being frens and relatives and so on. but how many are Christian? this song reminds me of how privileged i am, to be born into a Christian family. im not gonna do anything radical like sit on you and grasp your throat till ure done with the sinners prayer. but i would like to make an offer -

" just a question will do, whether it be by msn, email, or personally. i'd like to tell you more about Jesus. i'd like to tell the world."

and if you wanna hear this zhaii song, its at www.-burdened.blogspot.com. try listening all the way. haha rock on pple!

-p.s. : to a certain mei(s) - u can except a return letter... soon.

hasta la vista.
